Malaysian field hockey team orders its smokers to quit (AFP via Yahoo! News)

Tests have shown there are 10 smokers among the Malaysian national hockey team and they have been ordered into rehab as the country attempts to revive its fortunes, according to a report.

Minor league hockey feeling effects of recession (CBS Sports)

Leslie Mills’ family is full of hockey fans. In this season of recession, some members are going without. Mills and her husband renewed their season tickets to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games in the American Hockey League, but dropped an accompanying 12-game package used in previous years to take grandchildren.

Former head of NHL refs Bryan Lewis says fighting in hockey is on its way out (ESPN)
